We are looking for a COBOL/MANTIS Programmer to join our client’s team in support of their DoD customer located in Columbus, OH. The individual in this role will be part of a team supporting an automated, integrated contract administration and entitlement system providing contract administration, management, entitlement and disbursement of complex contracts.
The COBOL programmer shall have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working complex COBOL programs requiring integration with other applications and systems. This system consists of both online and batch system processing and is programmed in COBOL, MANTIS, JCL and Assembler mainframe languages to accommodate demand for electronic commerce and data interchange. The COBOL Programmer will be part of a team responsible for enhancing the system environment for the customers and users.
This is a direct hire position with our client with a salary range of $90-95k.
Responsibilities Include:
Collaborate with technical and functional analysts and end users to understand emerging business opportunities and troubleshoot incidents, resulting in effective IT application solutions.
Participate with other teams in analyzing users’ needs based on requirements and design, develop, and test to meet requirement objective.
Maintain and enhance system and application functionality by using COBOL, Mantis, JCL, and Assembler programming languages.
Provide Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) support for assigned sustainment projects; developing testing, and maintaining, software improvements.
Deliver quality software products within cost, schedule and performance in accordance with project schedule.
Compile comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as required for each change as a reference for future maintenance and testing, both on the program and user levels.
Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code during Peer Reviews to provide solutions for workarounds or resolutions.
Resolve issues as a result of Test Discrepancy Reports (TDRs) written during System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
All personnel must be US Citizens.
Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check and Law and Credit (NACLC) (ADP/IT-II) clearance prior to starting.
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security + CE, SSCP, CASP CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH).
10+ years of related experience.
Ability to communicate with team personnel effectively and professionally, and high-ranking military superiors.
Business acumen in dealing with delays in development lifecycles.
